Strength in Stillness

Psalm 46:10

Today’s Scripture

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

~ Psalm 46:10

Reflection

Our lives are loud. Between work, relationships, responsibilities, and the constant noise of the world, stillness feels like a luxury we cannot afford. But God doesn’t suggest stillness, He commands it. Be still. Know that He is God.

Stillness is where we hear God’s voice most clearly. It is where anxiety gives way to peace and confusion gives way to clarity. When we are still before God, we are not doing nothing, we are aligning our hearts with His.

In relationships, stillness is equally vital. How often do we react in anger instead of pausing to pray? How often do we fill silence with words instead of listening? How often do we rush ahead of God’s timing instead of resting in His plan?

Today, carve out a moment of stillness. Put down your phone, close your eyes, and simply be in God’s presence. Let Him remind you that He is God, and you don’t have to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders.

Prayer

Lord, quiet my heart and my mind. Help me to be still in Your presence and to hear Your voice above the noise. I release my anxiety, my striving, and my need for control. You are God, and I trust You completely. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
