Called to Serve

Galatians 5:13

← Previous Day Back to All Reflections →

Today’s Scripture

“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.”

~ Galatians 5:13

Reflection

Freedom in Christ is not freedom to do whatever we want, it is freedom to love without limits. Paul reminds us that our liberty was purchased at the highest price, and its highest expression is humble service.

Serving others can look like a thousand different things. It can be preparing meals for a family in crisis, mentoring a young person through a difficult season, donating your time at a community event, or simply listening to someone who needs to be heard.

In our community support efforts, we have seen how a single act of service can restore someone’s hope. A bag of groceries becomes a message that says “you are not forgotten.” A kind word at the right moment becomes a lifeline.

You do not need a title or a platform to serve. You just need a willing heart. Look around you today, God has already placed opportunities for service in your path. Will you say yes?

Prayer

Lord, give me a servant’s heart. Open my eyes to the needs around me and give me the courage to step into them. Let my life be marked not by what I have received, but by what I have given. Use me as a vessel of Your love in every community I touch. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
