Preparing the Way

God is a God of preparation. Before Jesus began His public ministry, John the Baptist prepared the way. Before the Israelites entered the Promised Land, spies were sent ahead. Before every great move of God, there is a season of preparation. Nothing in God’s kingdom happens without it.

Your engagement is a sacred season of preparation. It is not just the time between the proposal and the wedding, it is God’s designed period for you to prepare your heart, your mind, and your relationship for the covenant you are about to enter. Just as a messenger prepares the way for a king, your engagement prepares the way for something sacred.

Use this time wisely. Seek premarital counsel from godly mentors. Study the Word together as a couple. Pray about the hard topics, finances, family, faith practices, conflict resolution. Build your communication skills.
