Psalms 46:10
“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
~ Psalms 46:10In the original Hebrew, “be still” carries the sense of “let go” or “cease striving.” God is not simply asking for silence, He is commanding us to release our grip on the things we are trying to control. Stop fighting. Stop worrying. Stop scheming. Let go, and know that He is God.
In a world that never stops moving, notifications pinging, deadlines pressing, relationships demanding, the invitation to be still feels almost impossible. But it is precisely because of the noise that we need stillness. Our souls were not designed for constant stimulation. They were designed for communion with a God who often speaks in whispers.
ECO’s prayer ministry creates space for believers to pause, listen, and know that He is God. Whether through guided prayer times, silent retreats, or personal practice, the discipline of stillness is transformative. In the quiet, anxiety loses its voice. In the stillness, God’s presence becomes tangible. Be still today. He is waiting in the silence.
Father, quiet my restless heart. In the stillness, let me hear Your voice and know Your peace. Amen.
