Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.”
~ Ecclesiastes 4:9-10The Teacher in Ecclesiastes, after examining life from every angle, arrives at a simple but profound conclusion: two are better than one. This is not merely a romantic sentiment, it is a practical, spiritual, and emotional truth. There is a strength in partnership that isolation can never produce.
God never intended for us to walk alone. From the very beginning, when He declared “it is not good for man to be alone, ” God established the principle of partnership. In marriage, we find someone who lifts us when we fall, celebrates when we rise, shares our burdens, and multiplies our joys. This is the beauty of covenant.
But partnership requires vulnerability. You cannot be lifted up if you refuse to admit you have fallen. You cannot be celebrated if you hide your victories. A marriage thrives when both partners are willing to be seen, in weakness and in strength, in failure and in triumph. ECO’s Marriage Ministry creates a safe space for couples to practice this kind of honest, vulnerable partnership.
Thank You, Lord, for the gift of partnership. Help us lift each other up and walk together in Your strength. Amen.
