Psalms 23:3
“He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”
~ Psalms 23:3The twenty-third Psalm is perhaps the most beloved passage in all of Scripture, and at its center is this promise: He restores my soul. Not patches, not bandages, not temporary fixes, restoration. God takes what is broken and makes it whole. He takes what is depleted and fills it to overflowing.
Before God brings you a partner, He wants to make you whole. This is not a prerequisite in the legalistic sense, no one is perfectly whole. But God uses the season of singleness to do deep restoration work that is harder to do in the complexity of a relationship. Your singleness is not a waiting room; it is a restoration room.
Let God restore your soul. Let Him heal the wounds of past relationships, the scars of rejection, the lies you’ve believed about yourself. Let Him lead you in paths of righteousness, not so you can earn a spouse, but so you can walk in the fullness of who He made you to be. ECO’s Singles Ministry creates a community where this restoration happens.
Lord, restore my soul. Make me whole in You before I seek wholeness in anyone else. Amen.
