Love That Pursues

Song of Solomon 2:10

← Previous Day Next Day →

Today’s Scripture

“My beloved spoke and said to me, ‘Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, come with me.’”

~ Song of Solomon 2:10

Reflection

The Song of Solomon is one of the most beautiful love poems ever written, and it is in the Bible for a reason. God is not embarrassed by romantic love, He invented it. The beloved’s invitation, “Arise, my darling, come with me, ” captures the essence of holy pursuit: intentional, passionate, and full of delight.

As an engaged couple, you are in a unique season of pursuit. The initial spark of attraction has deepened into commitment, and now you are preparing to enter a lifelong covenant. Do not let the busyness of wedding planning dull the romance of this season. Keep pursuing each other with words of life, acts of devotion, and a love that reflects God’s own pursuit of His people.

Let your engagement be marked by holy passion, not reckless desire, but an intentional, God-honoring love that says, “I choose you, I delight in you, and I cannot wait to walk through life with you.” ECO’s Engaged Ministry helps couples channel this passion into a foundation that will last.

Prayer

Lord, fill our engagement with holy passion and purposeful pursuit. Help us honor You in how we love each other. Amen.
