Psalms 136:1
"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever."
~ Psalms 136:1Twenty-six times in Psalm 136, the phrase 'His love endures forever' is repeated. It is not a casual refrain, it is an insistent, unyielding declaration. God's love does not have an expiration date. It does not waver with mood or circumstance. It endures. Forever.
In marriage, human love will be tested. There will be seasons of distance, misunderstanding, and weariness. In those moments, the enduring love of God becomes the foundation upon which your marriage stands. Your love for each other may fluctuate, but His love for both of you never does.
Let this truth reshape how you love your spouse. You are not loving from an empty well, you are loved by an inexhaustible Source. When your patience runs thin, draw from His. When your grace runs out, receive more of His. His love endures forever, and it is flowing through you right now.
God of unfailing love, let Your enduring love be the source from which we draw. When our human love falters, sustain us with Yours. May our marriage reflect the forever-love You have shown us. Amen.
