Strength in Stillness

Exodus 14:14

← Previous Day Next Day →

Today’s Scripture

"The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still."

~ Exodus 14:14

Reflection

Stillness is not weakness, it is one of the most courageous acts of faith. When the Israelites stood before the Red Sea with Pharaoh's army behind them, God did not ask them to strategize or fight. He asked them to be still.

In our culture of constant motion, stillness feels counterproductive. We want to fix, solve, and control. But God often works most powerfully when we stop striving and start trusting. Your situation may feel impossible today, a relationship at an impasse, a prayer unanswered, a future unclear.

Be still. Not passive, but positioned. Position yourself in faith, trusting that the God who parted seas is more than capable of making a way for you. He is fighting battles you cannot see, moving pieces you cannot reach. Your stillness is not inaction, it is an act of worship.

Prayer

Lord, teach me the discipline of stillness. When I want to rush ahead or take control, anchor me in the truth that You are fighting for me. I choose to trust Your timing and Your ways. Amen.
