Matthew 18:20
"For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them."
~ Matthew 18:20There is something sacred about praying together. When a husband and wife bow their heads in unity, heaven pays attention. Jesus promised His presence wherever believers gather in His name, and there is no more powerful gathering than a marriage united in prayer.
Yet many couples find praying together to be one of the most difficult spiritual disciplines. Vulnerability before God in the presence of your spouse requires a level of transparency that can feel uncomfortable. But it is in that discomfort that intimacy deepens, both with God and with each other.
If you have never prayed together as a couple, start small. Hold hands. Speak one sentence of gratitude. Let the Holy Spirit build from there. The practice of shared prayer can transform your marriage from a partnership into a covenant sanctuary.
Lord Jesus, draw us together in prayer. Remove the barriers of pride and discomfort. Let our home become a house of prayer where Your presence dwells. Unite our hearts as we seek Your face together. Amen.
