The God Who Sees

Genesis 16:13

← Previous Day Next Day →

Today’s Scripture

"She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: "You are the God who sees me," for she said, "I have now seen the One who sees me.""

~ Genesis 16:13

Reflection

Hagar was alone, pregnant, and fleeing into the desert when God met her. She was unseen by the world, but not by God. In her lowest moment, she received a revelation that has echoed through millennia: El Roi, the God who sees.

If you are single and feeling invisible, overlooked for promotions, passed over in relationships, unseen in your struggles, take heart. The same God who pursued Hagar in the wilderness is pursuing you right now. He sees your faithfulness in the quiet moments. He sees your tears when no one else does.

Being seen by God is not passive observation. It is active, pursuing, redeeming love. He does not just see you, He sees into you, and He calls what He sees good. You are known, valued, and deeply loved.

Prayer

El Roi, thank You for seeing me, truly seeing me. When I feel invisible to the world, remind me that I am never invisible to You. Let Your gaze be enough for my heart today. Amen.
