Deuteronomy 6:6-7
“These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”
~ Deuteronomy 6:6-7Faith is not just something we practice in private, it is something we pass down. God’s design for the family is that every generation would teach the next about His love, His faithfulness, and His commands.
The greatest inheritance you can leave your children is not money or property, it is a legacy of faith. When they see you praying through hard times, worshipping through pain, and loving through conflict, they learn what it means to follow God for real.
But legacy does not only apply to biological children. You are building a legacy with every life you touch, nieces, nephews, mentees, young people in your church, and neighbors who are watching how you live. Your faithfulness today is planting seeds in someone else’s tomorrow.
What legacy are you building? Every prayer you pray, every act of kindness you extend, every moment you choose God over the world, it all matters. Generations you will never meet are counting on your faithfulness today.
Lord, help me to build a legacy of faith that outlasts my lifetime. Let my words, my actions, and my love for You be imprinted on the hearts of those who come after me. Use my life to point the next generation toward Your goodness and Your truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
