Hosea 2:14
“Therefore I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the wilderness and speak tenderly to her.”
~ Hosea 2:14The book of Hosea tells one of the most heartbreaking and beautiful stories in the Bible. God commanded Hosea to marry an unfaithful woman as a living parable of God’s love for unfaithful Israel. And even after repeated betrayal, God says: I will allure her. I will speak tenderly to her. I will not give up.
This is the pursuing heart of God, and it is the model for marriage. Familiarity can breed neglect. Years of togetherness can dull the intentionality that marked the early days. But God never stops pursuing His people, and He calls husbands and wives to mirror that same relentless tenderness.
Keep pursuing your spouse. Plan dates that show you were thinking about them. Speak words that communicate cherishing, not just coexisting. Do not let routine replace romance. The marriage that thrives is the one where both partners refuse to stop choosing each other, day after day, year after year. ECO’s Marriage Ministry equips couples to keep the flame of pursuit burning.
Lord, reignite the pursuit in our marriage. Help us never stop choosing each other. Amen.
