Ruth 3:11
“And now, my daughter, don’t be afraid. I will do for you all you ask. All the people of my town know that you are a woman of noble character.”
~ Ruth 3:11Ruth’s story is one of the most beautiful narratives in Scripture, a story of loss, faithfulness, and redemption. Before Boaz ever noticed her, God had been building her character through hardship and loyalty. Ruth did not become a woman of noble character overnight; she was forged in the fires of grief, displacement, and unwavering devotion to Naomi and to God.
Your engagement season is a time for the same kind of character building. The world focuses on wedding aesthetics, the perfect dress, the perfect venue, the perfect photos. But God focuses on the character of the people entering the covenant. Are you becoming more patient, more kind, more selfless? Are you learning to serve your future spouse well?
Let God refine your character during this sacred season of preparation. The wedding is one day; the marriage is a lifetime. ECO’s Engaged Ministry walks alongside couples to ensure that the character they bring to the altar is as beautiful as the ceremony itself.
God, build our character during this season of preparation. Make us people of noble character, ready for covenant. Amen.
