Identity Before Intimacy

Psalms 139:14

← Previous Day Next Day →

Today’s Scripture

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

~ Psalms 139:14

Reflection

Before you seek intimacy with another person, you must know who you are in the eyes of God. The psalmist declares with conviction: I am fearfully and wonderfully made. This is not arrogance; it is agreement with the Creator. When God made you, He did not make a mistake. He crafted you with intention, purpose, and delight.

In a culture that often defines worth by desirability, attractiveness, or relationship status, this truth is revolutionary. You are not defined by who wants you, who chose you, or who left you. You are defined by the One who made you. And He says you are wonderful.

When your identity is rooted in Christ rather than in another person, you bring wholeness to any future relationship. You do not enter from a place of desperation or neediness, but from a place of fullness and security. ECO’s Singles Ministry helps you discover and embrace your God-given identity so that when the time comes for partnership, you bring your best self to the table.

Prayer

Lord, root my identity in You alone. Help me know my worth as Your creation before I seek it in any relationship. Amen.
