Joy in the Journey

Nehemiah 8:10

← Previous Day Next Day →

Today’s Scripture

“Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

~ Nehemiah 8:10

Reflection

Joy and strength are inseparable in the economy of God. When Nehemiah spoke these words to the people of Israel, they were weeping, overwhelmed by the reading of God’s Word and convicted of how far they had strayed. But Nehemiah redirected them: this is not a day for grief. This is a day for joy, because the joy of the Lord is your strength.

Whatever your relationship season, whether you are single and waiting, engaged and preparing, or married and persevering, the joy of the Lord is available to you. This joy is not dependent on your circumstances. It is not the absence of hardship; it is the presence of God in the midst of it.

When your strength fails, His joy sustains. When your hope wavers, His joy anchors. Let the joy of the Lord carry you through difficult days and uncertain seasons. In prayer, ask Him to fill you with a joy that transcends understanding and a strength that defies your limitations.

Prayer

Lord, fill me with Your joy today. Let Your joy be my strength in every circumstance. Amen.
