Luke 10:42
“But few things are needed, or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
~ Luke 10:42In the familiar story of Mary and Martha, we see two responses to the presence of Jesus. Martha was busy with preparations, good, necessary things. But Mary chose the one thing that mattered most: sitting at the feet of Jesus. And Jesus said her choice would not be taken from her.
Fasting helps us reset our priorities in the same way. When we voluntarily set aside food or comfort, we are making a Mary-like choice, saying to God, “You are more important than my appetite, my routine, my comfort.” Fasting strips away the noise and recalibrates our hearts toward what truly matters.
ECO’s fasting programs are designed to guide you through this powerful reset. Whether you are fasting from food, media, or other distractions, the goal is the same: to prioritize the kingdom of God above all else. When His kingdom is first, everything else finds its proper place.
Lord, help me choose what is better. Reset my priorities through fasting and fix my eyes on Your kingdom. Amen.
