Opening Prayer

Father, continue to reveal who we are in You, in every season of life. Whether single, dating, engaged, married, or in between, help us to stand firm in our identity in Christ. We are who You say we are, not what the world says. Ground us in Your truth tonight. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Lord Who Am I?

I knew you before, I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born, I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.

O Sovereign Lord, ” I said, “I can’t speak for you! I’m too young!

The Lord replied, Don’t say, ‘I’m too young, ’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you. I, the Lord, have spoken! Then the Lord reached out and touched my mouth and said,

Look, I have put my words in your mouth! Today, I appoint you to stand up against nations and kingdoms. Some you must uproot and tear down, destroy and overthrow. Others you must build up and plant. (Jeremiah 1: 5-10).

Who Am I In Christ?

Loved By God

Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. (Ephesians 1:4)

Chosen By God

We know, dear brothers and sisters, that God loves you and has chosen you to be his own people. (1 Thessalonians 1:4)

Accepted By God

Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory. (Romans 15:7)

Complete By God

So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority. (Colossians 2:10)

Who Does God Say I Am?

Loved - Long ago the Lord said to Israel: “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself. (Jeremiah 31:3).
And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. (Romans 8:17).
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! (2 Corinthians 5:17).
For I know the plans I have for you, ” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11).
Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory. (Romans 15:7)
You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. (John 15:16)
But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful, and he forgives us our sins and cleanses us from all wickedness. (1John 1:9)
He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. (Psalm 121:3)
Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20)
But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his marvelous light. (1 Peter 2:9)
But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree. (Galatians 3:13)
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)
Others were given in exchange for you. I traded their lives for yours because you are precious to me. You are honored, and I love you. (Isaiah 43:4)
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. (Ephesians 2:10)

I Am Who God Says I AM!

Enough ~ 2 Corinthians 3:5
Loved ~ 2 John 6:1
Chosen ~ Ephesians 1:4
Wonderfully Made ~ Psalms 139:14

Who Am I I My Identity!

“Haven’t you read the Scriptures?” Jesus replied. “They record that from the beginning, ‘God made them male and female. And he said, “‘This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.’Since they are no longer two but one, let no one split apart what God has joined together.” (Matthew 19: 4-6).

Who Am I Before Dating!

“Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. (Matthew 22:37-38).

Who Am I In Between Season!

This is my command - be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9)
Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

Who Am I In Marriage!

“Since they are no longer two but one, let no one split apart what God has joined together.” (Matthew 19: 6).

Closing Prayer

Father, whether we are single, dating, engaged, married, or in between seasons, help us to know who we are in You before we seek to know anyone else. Ground our identity in Christ alone so that we bring our whole, healed, and purposeful selves into every relationship. We are who You say we are. In Jesus' name, Amen.
