Opening Prayer

Father, tonight we celebrate the beauty and sacredness of marriage. For those preparing for the altar, strengthen their foundation. For those already married, rekindle the fire. For those hoping for marriage, build their faith. Teach us all what it means to say “Marry Me”, not just as a question, but as a covenant commitment before You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

More Than a Question: A Covenant

“Marry Me” is more than a romantic proposal, it is a covenant declaration. It says: I choose you. I commit to you. I will honor God through our union. Marriage is not just a ceremony, it is a divine partnership designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the Church.

Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate. ~ Mark 10:9
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her. ~ Ephesians 5:25

Are You Ready to Say “Marry Me”?

1. Spiritual Readiness, Is God at the center of your relationship? Can you pray together, worship together, and seek His will together?

2. Emotional Readiness, Have you dealt with your past? Are you emotionally whole, or are you looking for someone to complete you?

3. Financial Readiness, Have you had honest conversations about money, debt, goals, and stewardship?

4. Communication Readiness, Can you disagree without disrespecting? Can you speak truth in love?

5. Purpose Alignment, Are you walking in the same direction? Do your visions for life, family, and faith align?

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor. ~ Ecclesiastes 4:9

Building a Marriage That Honors God

A God-honoring marriage is built on three pillars: Prayer (the foundation), Communication (the walls), and Sacrifice (the roof). Without any one of these, the house is incomplete.

Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. ~ Psalm 127:1
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. ~ 1 Corinthians 13:4

Closing Prayer

Lord, we lift up every person here tonight, those preparing to say “Marry Me,” those who have already said it, and those still waiting for the right one. Prepare our hearts for covenant. Build our relationships on the foundation of Christ. Give us the wisdom to be ready, spiritually, emotionally, financially, and purposefully, before we make the most important commitment of our lives. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
