2 Corinthians 3:18
“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory.”
~ 2 Corinthians 3:18Paul describes a beautiful process: as we behold the glory of the Lord, we are transformed into His image. It is not a one-time event but an ongoing metamorphosis, glory to glory, day by day, as we fix our gaze on Him. This is the divine exchange: we bring our broken humanity, and He gives us His glorious likeness.
Fasting accelerates this exchange. When we deny the flesh, its appetites, its comforts, its demands, we create space for the Spirit to work more deeply. The noise of our cravings quiets, and in the silence, we can see His face more clearly. Every meal skipped, every comfort surrendered, becomes an opportunity to behold Him with unveiled faces.
ECO’s fasting programs are designed to facilitate this transformative encounter. Fasting is not about willpower or self-punishment, it is about exchange. We give up what is temporary to receive what is eternal. We set aside what satisfies for a moment to feast on what satisfies forever.
Lord, transform me during this fast. Exchange my weakness for Your strength, my brokenness for Your wholeness. Amen.
