Loyal Opposition

Every marriage faces opposition. It comes in many forms: financial stress, family interference, health crises, spiritual warfare, and the slow erosion of busyness and neglect. The enemy of your soul is also the enemy of your covenant, and he will use every tool at his disposal to divide what God has joined.

But the psalmist’s declaration rings through the centuries with defiant confidence: the Lord is with me. I will not be afraid. When God is on your side, no opposition can ultimately prevail. This does not mean life will be easy, it means that in the battle, you are not alone.

Stand together with your spouse against anything that threatens your covenant. Pray together. Fight for each other, not against each other. When the world presses in, press into God.
