Drawing Near to God in Your Hour of Need

I ask that You guide the hands of my surgeon and every member of the medical team. Calm my anxious heart and replace my fear with the peace that surpasses all understanding. I trust that You are with me in the operating room, holding me through every moment.

Remove what does not belong and restore what has been damaged. I believe in Your power to heal, and I place my faith in Your will and Your timing.

Use them as instruments of Your healing, and let their skill bring restoration to this body You created.

They are a gift from You.

Help me to trust Your plan even when I do not know the details. You already know the results, and You are already working on my behalf.

~ Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)Lord, the nights are long and the fears are loudest in the dark. When I lie awake worrying about tomorrow, wrap me in Your presence. Quiet the storm in my mind and grant me rest. Let me fall asleep knowing that You are watching over me and my family through the night. You never sleep and You never look away. I can rest because You are awake on my behalf.

~ Psalm 4:8 (NIV)Dear God, if I could take this illness from my child and bear it myself, I would do it in a heartbeat. But I cannot, and that is the hardest part. So I place my precious child in Your arms. You love them even more than I do, and I trust You with their life. Heal their little body, comfort their fears, and give them strength beyond their years. Help me to be brave for them even when my heart is breaking. Let them see Your love through my face and feel Your comfort through my hands.

~ Matthew 19:14 (NIV)Heavenly Father, You knit this child together in their mother's womb. Every part of them is known to You and precious in Your sight. I ask You now to bring healing to their body. Touch the places that are hurting and restore them to full health. Surround them with Your angels and protect them from fear. Give the doctors treating them exceptional wisdom and guide every treatment decision. We believe in Your power and Your love for this little one.

They may feel scared, confused, or even forgotten in the whirlwind of medical care. Help me to see their needs even in the midst of crisis. Bind this family together through this trial.
